Tattooing is for everyone

This intro course will teach you the basics of tattooing so you are ready for skin!

Hand-poking is a more gentle, safe and intuitive way to work with the body. With a bit of patience and handy skills anyone can do it. Whether you want to work as an artist or just tattoo for fun, this workshop is a good place to start from scratch.

Learning about tattoos and getting better at your craft never ends! But don’t let the big guys gatekeep it from you, getting into it is easier than you think.

Handpoking doesn’t need expensive equipment, most of it is available in a pharmacy or a supermarket . For anything else there’s the Tattoo Kit that you will bring home with you.
You’ll quickly get the hang of the technique : hand made tattoos are intuitive and after a bit of practice you’ll know exactly how deep to go. If you have the patience you can do whatever the machine can, with way less usage of the skin.
We need to make far less holes than machines, which means far smaller risk of infection, easier healing and less pain.
After learning the basics of hygiene and the right technique it’s only up to you how far you take this art!

No worries tho, we are going to practice on fake skin and I’m here to answer all your questions after the workshop as well.

A good tattoo starts with a positive experience.
Leave your ego at home and learn how to make someone feel safe throughout a session.

The trust we receive as tattooers is not to be taken for granted. We will talk about consent, how to make someone feel seen, heard and respected. After all, our job is to make them feel good in their skin (little pun intended). It’s just about being a decent person really, but I will help you set expectations on what to do and say, and what is best to avoid.

If the magic is right, we can turn the physical discomfort into a healing experience.

I'm Luki, a self taught artist with 7 years of tattoo experience and manager of a private tattoo studio in Berlin.

My creative style embraces imperfection through authenticity. The tattoos endear rather than impress and try to immortalize something human, something vulnerable, often something cute.
I have discovered a form of magic through my practice and I love to teach as much as I love doing it. It helped me shape my identity and my relationship with myself and others - definitely for the better.

About me

Anatomy of skin, different layers, proper depth and the mistakes to avoid. We’ll learn about needles too, so you can choose your appropriate equipment based on your design and style
how to build trust and emotionally support the guest through the session, while maintaining professional boundaries.
together we’ll go through a step-by-step routine on how to create a sanitary workstation. This way you can create a safe environment wherever you like, at home or in a studio.
we’ll practice the poking skills on a rubber sheet similar to human skin. I will give you personal guidance and tips and tricks for a nice line, shading and filling.

The workshop has 4 parts:

The hand poke starter kit includes:

• 10 needles

• 10 ink holder cups and spatulas

• small bottle of tattoo ink

• stencil paper and transfer gel

• green soap spray

• grip tape
